It was a time for celebration and pleasure, as it marked the beginning of the new life. Men married after successful campaigns, anglers held their marriages after a good catch and shepherds tied the knot after the calving season.

The wife wears a veil, which she never takes off, except to go to the toilet. It was considered a bad omen to taking off the veil during the meeting, and in old times it was typical to condemn a wedding who did so.
After the ceremony the newlyweds walk through the streets of the community, with people throwing grains of rice, pastries and cash for happiness and prosperity. They also stop at native shrines and offer tribute. The wedding ceremony is supervised by a master of ceremonies called a” Tamada”. He is a loud colleague who runs the diverse contests.
When the bride leaves her parents ‘ property, she takes with her a jacket that she should maintain, not to give away or permit somebody touch. The groom’s friends tested the wife by asking her questions and requesting water from her. If they placed money on a tray, the wife may provide them ocean or answer their questions.
